Beso terreno - Earthly Kiss

In 2018, I moved into a creekside cabin at the top of a steep slope in central Kentucky. Since then, I’ve photographed the landscape outside my windows at all times. I regard these landscapes with awe, sorrow, and hope—awe of the life and diversity that survives there; sorrow for the pollution in the air, soil, and water, and for the animals endangered and extinct in an ecology out of balance; hope that these images inspire the urgency necessary to reverse the destruction wreaked by human activity.
